Research Plan

For many families, finding decent work is nearly impossible. Especially in the United States, many families end up relying on the government. The emphasis on education and money and a platform in order to get a “good paying” job is what causes many to give up. This problem lies higher within the population of single or parents with several kids that need to be fostered. The government allows support in providing for these low income families, however many take advantage.

Many studies have been placed to recognize the difficulty in finding financial support. Above is a graph that demonstrates the change in employment rates for women with unmarried vs married parents. Coming from a family background that previously struggles financially can create an impact in one’s future financial standing.

While some might argue that since there are a lot of government policies that provide for low-income families, leading to a more balanced nation, it is actually the opposite. By providing so much for low income families, the classes split even further and there becomes more competition in buying and selling to the lower income families. The margins of affordability stay pretty average but this is for those with a stable job.

Through several research methods like surveys or financial accounts, while many people are prospering, more are suffering. Even through my personal experience, I have encountered many families that struggle to find enough pay to take care of their families. Sometimes parents would like to be able to find opportunities to grow, but are immediately shut down due to their lack of education. For this reason many parents work several jobs in order to send their kids to college, hoping they won’t need to struggle as they did.

More specifically under the population of immigrants, getting medical insurance, proper tax reduction is unavailable and it all goes back to a neglect placed on those without the education necessary to get decent work. From language barriers to the lack of time with the responsibility of a family, immigrants or recently citified people are still looking to be accepted into the work field.

By better understanding this topic, we can allow for lower income families to reach the decent work platform and lessen support from the government. Even by teaching these families of the hidden ways to make money and reduce taxes that no one seems to talk about, they can better their families and rise out of poverty and financial struggling. By supporting these families and instead of simply providing the money or by donating, we can give them the opportunity to learn and grow without feeling like the less advantaged.
